The “Central Park” of Hudson, New York in Columbia County. 12 miles north/west of the Miyares Farm. This picture taken on a nice spring day in late March 2007. This part of New York’s spring doesn’t truly become visible until late April. Till then, everything is very brown and very muddy as the collection of snow accumulated over the long winter melts. Hudson, New York was an industrial town that fell upon hard times as industry moved out of high tax New York in the 1960’s. Recently, very recently, it has become a hotbed of antique shops (very expensive) and art galleries frequented largely by New York City . day-trippers. Its intact architecture from late 1800’s , early 1900’s gives it a charm not found in some of the more sterile exurb environments that litter the USA landscape.
