A Cuban TurkeyThanksgiving ala Cubana circa Thanksgiving 2008. Another Thanksgiving came and went and now getting ready for the work sprint through to the end of the year. Always a hectic time especially when you are in the world of Technology Development.

Ala Cubana means Cuban Style or at least I intend it to. Cuban Stuffing which is a family secret, Yucca (Not Sweet potato), Plantains , white rice and black beans. Actually all quite healthy and relatively non-fattening. Spent most of the day (approximately 8 hours) cooking the meal in a small, cramped and airless New York City apartment kitchen which can be seen in the photo.

Everything I write at work eventually becomes a cliche and I work to much which means I write too many cliches and prevents me from blogging which means my use of language languishes.
Furthermore too much work results on one dimensional thinking regardless of the interest level of the work which luckily is high.

So what to do? I need to get into the habit which I have exposed previously of writing something each and everyday whether I have something or nothing to day. I should not go one month without contributing to this blog and as I am the sole contributor leaving it to become dated and sparse.

Having a self-imposed rule not to dwell and write about work makes the topics and stories to surface somewhat limited. I believe all of us with enough discipline could write interesting volumes with the nuttiness that usually permeates a typical “day at the office”. It would be realer then the TV sitcom “The Office” and probably just as funny but no way changing the names to protect the innocent would suffice to hide whom the real characters were. Therefore I just stay away from it all together.

Anyway, on to the best part of the year – Thanksgiving , Christmas and New Years. Pictures to come from all the feasts including yesterday’s Thanksgiving extravaganza where I was the head chef.

A one week trip to Los Angeles, California is in the offering for the week of November 3rd, 2009. Business related of course, seems like it is always business with me. Nevertheless it has been awhile since I have been in LA and looking forward to the change of pace from New York City. With all the cost cutting going on in American business including my company, its economy all the way and though I am staying at the Beverly Hills Hilton, I may try to shack up with “family” to save a few $$’s for our company. Not looking forward to the cross country cattle car flight on the lowest cost carrier for this trip. “American” is the carrier of choice this time.
For one week, the auto will be king again instead of the New York City Subway. 14th Street Station
