Wintry Road

Back from summer warm and chaotic India to the serene scene captured here on a Saturday afternoon in Columbia County a few days after the first 2007/2008 winter storm. Currently snowing some more on Sunday morning as I write this post. Not a living creature in sight as the snow and cold has frozen out all of the “day-trippers” . Now begins the long hard Columbia winter leaving the county to the true hardy residents to appreciate the smell of burning logs and the rustling of the few leaves that are didn’t end up under the canopy of snow.

Photograph that most captures for me Goa, India. Goa is a former Portuguese colony on the western coast of India.
Of course I went to India for long hours of work but the weekends are still mine and decided to explore points outside of Bangalore and where the shackles of the internet as we know it are not readily available. A few meters from this serene setting, the normal chaos exists. Busy thoroughfares, pedestrians, cows, elephants, zooming scooters , bazars and everything imaginable. That is the beauty of India at least for me.

Jazz and Blues

Having just arrived in Bangalore, India after a grueling 20 hour trek , what better way to recharge in anticipation of more then a week of equaling grueling work? Well go to the Indigo & Blues Jazz and Blues festival at the Jayamahal Palace Hotel. An evening full of local and some international talent under the stars and pleasant spring like weather (in December). I was surprised at the interest for this type of music in India (shows you I don’t know much).
